Release 0.6.0
What is new in Orchemax 0.6.0 (preview, early access by invitation): a session start with a real brief, a close that saves while you work, `orch try` to test accepted work live, a live progress line, quieter notifications and safer evidence and landing.
Orchemax 0.6.0 — preview, early access by invitation.
Terms used below: the Chair is the agent you talk to, which plans and coordinates the work; a worker is an agent the Chair starts for one task in its own copy of the code; a seal is the automatic check that closes a worker's task; landing is merging checked work into main and installing it.
Highlights#
- A start that briefs you. The Chair opens with a first message of its own and a start brief that lists accepted branches whatever their final status, carries pinned knowledge, and gives a project's first session a real resume.
- A close that saves while you work. Closing a Chair saves its handoff unless the Chair itself wrote one since it started, including when another Chair closes in the same second. A Chair that starts the second the previous one closed is treated as the newer seat.
- Try accepted work live.
orch trybuilds and installs audited branches in seconds without the land's tests, so you can test them live; verification follows later. - A Chair close stays light. Closing a Chair runs no worker seal tests, merge preview or repo gate; it judges only its own commits.
- A live progress line. While a seat starts and closes, a single animated line shows the steps (card, memory, brief, launch) and the closing summary. It stays silent off a terminal and under
NO_COLOR,ORCH_NO_SPINorORCH_QUIET. - Clear start failures. An interactive agent that cannot start says why, once, before the close banner.
- Any agent on your PATH.
orch <name>opens an agent that is installed but has no preset, using a generic one. A name that is not installed gets a close Orchemax command as a suggestion, or a note that it is not on your PATH. - Quieter notifications. Toasts appear only when you must act: a worker's idle prompt goes to the notify log instead of your desktop, workers' results never toast you while a Chair is open, and the log records what was delivered.
- Evidence without secrets. Secret values (JSON keys, flags, basic credentials, camelCase names) are redacted line by line before a seal stores its evidence.
- Safer landing. A failed multi-branch land bisects by branch, reruns only the failing tests by name, names the culprit branches and lands the rest. A land retries a step once when a Go build-cache entry vanished, and the cache is kept while a seal, audit or land is open.
- Measured work.
orch statsand the start brief show the time to done per item, and account-login runs are measured beside gateway runs.
Upgrade#
- Replace the binary in the install folder with the 0.6.0 one (see Install).
